IS WORLD PEACE ECONOMIC VIABLE NOWADAYS...- ROBERTO SANTOS

This title would seem crazy for most of people in our

beloved world, but if we take some points in consideration,

we will start thinking differently.

When we analyse how much Money is invested in weapons and

Military research, and compare it with  how much is being spent to resolve

the problem of hunger , we fastly find out something wrong in the equation!

While billions are used in the proposal ok killing, millions of people are

dying because they don’t have a simple aspirine to take or a small slice of

bread to eat.

So , my question is : What is going wrong with governors around the world? Why aren’t they trying to reduce the cost of conflicts and invest

this quantity in education and agriculture?

Unfortunately I know the answer: Investiments in education and other

social areas don’t have a great return to those who invest. It only appears after some generations, so the politicians who would make these investments won’t receive the glories!

On the other hand, the industries responsible for producing lethal weapons and materials to support the wars, retribute gigantically to

those that hired them. Corruption evade other billions of dollars annually

And these acts are not punished when discovered.

So , while this equilibrium is totally favorable to the dark side of the life, people will continue dying and killing to try to eat a piece of bread or to drink a glass or pure  water. And powerful CEOs and Presidents will continue traveling in their superfast jets and drinking super pure water

From the alp , French champagne  and eating their iraqi caviar, while discussing in the UN which is the next country to be sanctioned.

While you are reading this article , hundreds or maybe thousands of innocent men, women and children are dying , some of them fighting for

justice, some of them fighting for food and water .

Most of soldiers don’t really understand  why they have to do what they are doing, and most of  them are also victims of the tyranny .

The only hope we can have is that one day, after destroying most of our planet , the “big men” decide that it is time to live in peace and share the wealth with us.  Let’s hope and pray for that day to come soon!!!
